(Waldorf, Md.) - The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs 2-1 on Saturday night in the middle game of a three-game series at Regency Furniture Stadium.
Both teams exchanged zeroes for the first five innings, but the Ducks took a 1-0 lead in the sixth on a two-out RBI single to center by Tyler Colvin off Blue Crabs starter Tim Sexton. Jamar Walton answered with a two-out, two-run home run to right field off Ducks starter John Brownell in the bottom of the frame to put the hosts in front for good at 2-1.
Sexton (1-1) earned the victory, tossing seven innings of one-run ball, allowing just four hits and a walk while striking out six.
