
Brown, Holiday Spark Stampede in Win

BOISE, Idaho - Carlon Brown, starting for Idaho for the first time this year, had 21 points (4-8 3FG) and Justin Holiday added 28 off the bench (11-19 FG) as the Idaho Stampede beat the Reno Bighorns 120-95. Coby Karl added eight points, 11 assists and two blocks for the Stampede (5-15).
The Idaho bench had its best game of the season, with Sean Evans (14 points, 11 rebounds) and Justin Harper (17 points, 12 rebounds) picking up double-doubles, while Seth Tarver added five points and 10 rebounds. Idaho shot 47.3 percent from the floor, made 24-of-30 free throws and gathered a whopping 68 total rebounds, including 20 offensive. The Stampede led by as many as 33 and got off to a rocking start, making 18-of-24 shots in the first quarter, taking a 44-23 lead at the end of the first.
Jason Ellis and Brown replaced Holiday and Evans in the starting five, and they helped hold Reno (8-9) to just 36.8 percent shooting from the floor. The Bighorns were led by Memphis Grizzlies assignee Tony Wroten, who finished with 27 points. Jerome Jordan had 17 points, seven rebounds and five blocks.
