BayHawks Drop Game to Fort Wayne, 112-84

Erie, Pennsylvania - The Erie BayHawks returned home following a four game road trip to host the Fort Wayne Mad Ants on Saturday night. Fort Wayne pulled away in the second half and downed Erie by a final score of 112-84, extending their winning streak to seven games.

The two teams traded the lead five times in the first quarter and ended the quarter in a tie, 26-26. Fort Wayne (10-10) started to pull away from the BayHawks (10-7) midway through the second frame and took a 58-51 lead into the locker room at halftime. Fort Wayne's lead came in large part to doubling Erie's free throw attempts by a 20-10 margin.

The BayHawks were able to trim the deficit to three points with six minutes remaining in the third quarter but the Mad Ants closed the stanza out on a 13-4 scoring run to take an 85-73 advantage into the final twelve minutes. Fort Wayne outscored Erie by 18 points in the fourth quarter and closed out the game with a 112-84 victory.

Erie was led by Demetri McCamey who scored a season-high 21 points off the bench for the BayHawks. D.J. Kennedy (17 points, 14 rebounds) and Mike Singletary (10 points, 13 rebounds) pitched in with double-doubles while Henry Sims and Keith Benson both deposited 12 points.

Fort Wayne was paced by Anthony Richardson (30) and Tony Mitchell (22). Luke Harangody posted a double-double with 19 points and 21 rebounds while Ron Howard (17) and Sadiel Rojas (13) also contributed double-figured scoring outputs.

The BayHawks will head west on another four game stretch as they'll square off against the Idaho Stampede in Boise on Wednesday. Fort Wayne will also head to the west coast as they'll face the Los Angeles D-Fenders on Wednesday.
