Brown Bears Earn Series Sweep over Magicians

November 17, 2014 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Kenai River Brown Bears News Release

Saturday saw a hard fought game from the Kenai River Brown Bears, which resulted in the first series sweep of the year for the Bears. Once again there was an early goal scored in the game, this time from Tyler Andrews (Campbell, Bouvet) Five minutes later the Magicians answered, and the game went tied into the second period. Alec Derks played strong through two, and looked like the game would be tied at one after two again, but with four minutes remaining in the second the Magicians broke through for a goal on Derks. The Brown Bears responded though and with less than a minute remaining in the second Maurin Bouvet tied it from: Gessert, Andrews. The third period was a battle of goalies and was almost certain for overtime, but once again the duo of Bouvet and Gessert answered with a goal this time it was Jack Gessert from Bouvet, Andrews. Alec Derks recorded his second win in as many nights with 23 saves on 25 shots.

The Bears welcome Wenatchee in to town Friday and Saturday for our military appreciation night at 7:30 pm
