
Brooks Lee Assigned to Cedar Rapids

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Minnesota Twins have assigned 2022 first-round pick Brooks Lee to the Cedar Rapids Kernels. Drafted No. 8 overall this past July out of Cal Poly, the shortstop will wear No. 45 and is active for this evening's game in Quad Cities. The Kernels active roster now stands at 29 players.
Lee joins Cedar Rapids after starting his professional career in the FCL, going 6-for-17 (.353) over four games with two runs scored, a pair of doubles and three RBI.
A two-time Big West Player of the Year honoree with the Mustangs, Lee was named the 2022 Brooks Wallace Award recipient after slashing .357/.462/.664 for a 1.126 OPS over 58 games with 56 runs, 25 doubles, a triple, 15 home runs and 55 RBI. He led the Big West in hits, walks, doubles, home runs, runs scored, RBIs, slugging percentage and total bases while landing second in batting average and on-base percentage. Lee starred on numerous summer circuits as an amateur including stints on the Cape, in the Northwoods and West Coast Leagues along with USA Baseball's Collegiate National Team.
