Beloit Sky Carp News Release

BELOIT - The West Michigan Whitecaps plated a run in the top of the 10th inning, then prevented the Beloit Sky Carp from doing the same in the bottom half to secure a 5-4 victory Wednesday night at ABC Supply Stadium.

Beloit scored single runs in both the second and third innings behind starting pitcher Edgar Sanchez, but the Whitecaps put up a two-spot in the top of the fifth to tie the game.

Beloit catcher Jose Estrada briefly broke a 2-2 tie with a tape measure blast to the concourse in left field, a two-run shot that made it 4-2.

But the Whitecaps scored a pair of unearned runs in the top of the eighth to knot the game back up.

A crowd of 1,593 looked on as the team celebrated Wedding Night on the concourse with several local vendors showcasing their wares.

The six-game series will continue Thursday night, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m. It's Thirsty Thursday at the ballpark, with $2 12-ounce drafts of Busch Light and Coors Light and $4 16-ounce cans f both beers.
