Brooklyn Nets Re-Assign Shengelia and Taylor to Springfield Armor

Brooklyn, NY - The Brooklyn Nets have assigned forward Tornike Shengelia and guard Tyshawn Taylor to the Springfield Armor of the NBA Development League, it was announced today by General Manager Billy King.

This is the fourth D-League assignment this season for Shengelia. In six games with the Armor, Shengelia is averaging 26.8 points, 9.2 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game. Shengelia recorded a triple-double with 22 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds in his NBA D-League debut on 12/21 vs. Erie, and followed that showing with a 39-point outburst on 1/24 vs. Maine, which is tied for the third-most points scored in the NBA D-League this season. In 15 games for the Nets this season, Shengelia is averaging 1.2 points, 0.6 rebounds and 0.2 assists per game.

This is the third time this season Taylor has been assigned to the Armor. In four games with Springfield, Taylor is averaging 26.5 points, 7.5 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game. Taylor scored a game-high 32 points in his D-League debut on 12/21 vs. Erie, and recorded a double-double in his last Armor game, with a game-high 27 points and a team-high 11 assists, on 1/27 at Maine. In 32 games with Brooklyn, Taylor is averaging 1.8 points, 0.5 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game.

Both players will be available tonight when the Armor host the Fort Wayne Mad Ants at 7:00 pm at the MassMutual Center in Springfield.
