Brockton Makes Moves To Finalize Playoff Roster

Rox acquired RHP Mike Petrowski from New York (New York State League) in exchange for cash - official as of August 27, 2011

Petrowski joins the Brockton Rox after stints with the New York Federals and New Jersey Jackals in 2011. He gave up six earned runs in three starts (21 innings) with New York before making his way to the Jackals bullpen, back to New York and eventually to the Rox at the end of August. Petrowski started 14 games at Rider University in 2009 and went 3-6 with a 7.45 ERA, before pitching in the New York State League in 2010.

Rox placed RHP John Kelly on the disabled list - official as of September 4, 2011

Kelly exited with a right elbow injury after just one inning in his September 3rd start against New Jersey. The veteran righthander posted a 1-1 record with a 2.15 earned run average in 29 and 1/3 innings with the Rox in 2011.

Rox activated RHP Freddy Flores from disabled list - official as of September 4, 2011

Flores returned from a trip to the disabled list in late August to record his seventh win in 19 starts by defeating the New Jersey Jackals in the regular season finale. He gave up two runs on six hits in five innings and struck out six in his first appearance since August 25. Flores went 7-9 with a 4.90 ERA in 112 innings pitched in 2011.

The Brockton Rox roster now stands at 22 active (11 pitchers, 11 position players, 2 Disabled, 1 Inactive)
