Edmondson Named Can-Am League Hitter of the Week

PITTSFIELD, MA - The Can-Am League announced on Monday that Pittsfield Colonials' outfielder Jerod Edmondson has been named the Hitter of the Week for the week ending September 4.

The weekly honor comes on the heels of being named the league Hitter of the Month for August.

Edmondson recorded hits in every game Pittsfield played this past week, including four multi-hit games. He hit .520 for the week with four homers and 10 RBI. He also walked four times for a .571 on-base percentage.

Since July 31, Edmondson has hit .370 with 10 homers and 37 RBI. He has also scored 35 runs. The Colonials' outfielder finished the season with a .315 average and is among the top five in the Can-Am League in homeruns, runs scored, doubles, total bases, extra-base hits and at-bats heading into the final day of regular season play.

The Colonials will start the playoffs at New Jersey on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. with Chad Paronto (9-7, 3.80) on the hill for Pittsfield against Isaac Pavlik (13-3, 2.73) for the Jackals. All Colonials' playoff games can be heard on 89.7 WTBR FM. Coverage will begin with the pregame show on Wednesday at 6:45 p.m.
