Jackals Heading To Playoffs
September 5, 2011 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
New Jersey Jackals News Release
The Jackals (57-36 overall) are roaring into the postseason having won 10 of their final 13 regular season games. The team stands out as the only Can-Am League club from the tri-state area to make the playoffs, as the expansion Rockland Boulders and rival Newark Bears failed to reach the postseason.
The Jackals open up the first round in a best-of-five series at home against the Pittsfield Colonials (53-39 overall) on Wednesday, September 7 at 7:05 pm. Due to scheduling conflicts at the Colonials home ballpark, Yogi Berra Stadium will actually play host to all five playoff games. The #2 seeded Jackals will play as the "home team" for games one, two, and five (if necessary), while the #3 Colonials will have the last at-bat in games three and four (if necessary). The winner of the series will challenge either the Quebec Capitales or Brockton Rox for the Can-Am League Championship.
Tickets go on sale at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, September 6 for all active postseason games. There is no increase in ticket prices for the playoffs, so Reserved Seats are $9 and Box Seats are $11. Fans may purchase tickets online at www.jackals.com, by calling at (973) 746-7434, or by visiting the Yogi Berra Stadium ticket office. Fans can stay up-to-date with the postseason promotional schedule on the Jackals' Facebook and Twitter pages.
