CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. –- Tarrik Brock's two-run single in the third inning was the last hit for the Jacksonville Suns, but also its most important, in a 2-1 victory Wednesday afternoon over the Chattanooga Lookouts in front of 2,985 fans at BellSouth Park.

Brock singled on a 1-2 count with two outs in the third off Lookouts starter Bobby Basham. The hit scored Eric Stults who reached on an error and Jesus Feliciano who followed Stults with a single for the Suns (9-11).

Basham (0-2) earned the loss despite not allowing an earned run over seven innings. He walked one and struck out six, retiring 11 consecutive Suns after Brock's single.

He was matched pitch for pitch by Suns left-hander Eric Stults. Stults (2-1) earned the victory, delivering six shutout innings and striking out four. Nathan Ruhl permitted the lone run for Chattanooga (6-13) which came on Ed Encarnacion's sacrifice fly in the eighth inning.

Suns closer Lino Urdaneta induced three ground balls in the ninth inning to preserve the one-run lead and earn his second save.

Right-hander Joel Hanrahan (2-1, 4.35 ERA) is scheduled to face Lookouts lefty John Koronka (1-1, 2.70) at 7:15 p.m. Thursday at BellSouth Park.
