Brignac Big in Bulls Win

DURHAM, NC - Reid Brignac hit an RBI-double to drive home the winning run in the Bulls 3-2 win on Sunday night at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The win keeps the Bulls in first place in the South Division, and is the 5,999th in franchise history inching them one closer to the 6,000 mark.

Ray Olmedo led off the eighth inning with a triple deep into the right field corner off of Knights reliever Addison Reed. Reed was able to retire John T. Shelby III on a fly ball before Brignac came to the plate. Brignac drove a fastball from Reed to left-center field for a double scoring Olmedo and giving the Bulls a 3-2 lead.

The bullpen made the lead stand-up and Cesar Ramos (1-0) earned his first Triple-A victory of the season. Dane De La Rosa worked out of a jam in the eighth inning and then worked a perfect ninth inning to earn his fourth save of this season. Russ Canzler had two hits and scored two runs for the Bulls and Leslie Anderson also had two hits and an RBI.

Durham will continue their series with Charlotte, in Charlotte on Tuesday August 2 at 7:05 p.m. The Bulls will send Matt Moore (1-0) to the mound against the Knights Joe Bisenius (3-0). The game can be heard on 620 the Buzz.
