Brian Doyle-Murray Will Be in St. Joe

St. Joseph, MO-The Blacksnakes won't only have festivities at the beginning of their upcoming homestand.

Not only will the team be giving out schedule magnets but actor Brian Doyle-Murray, Blacksnakes co-owner, will be at Phil Welch Stadium Saturday night. Doyle-Murray will throw out the ceremonial first pitch and may coach first base during the contest.

Doyle-Murray, Bill Murray's older brother, has numerous film and television acting credits to his name including "Christmas Vacation," "Groundhog Day," "Vacation," "Ghostbusters II" and "JFK." However his most notable credit may be co-writing and co-starring in "Caddyshack" with Harold Ramis.

His television appearances include "Seinfeld," "Wings," "Yes Dear" and "King of the Hill."

Doyle-Murray began his acting career in 1972 co-starring in "Fuzz" with Burt Reynolds and Raquel Welch and has more than forty appearances to his name.

Many big promotions are planned for Phil Welch next weekend to welcome professional baseball back to St. Joe. Opening Night festivities are highlighted by a post-game fireworks show and schedule magnet giveaway.

The 'Snakes remain on the road until opening up the home schedule Friday, May 19, against Sioux Falls. RHP Andrew Edwards will make his St. Joe debut tomorrow night in St. Paul against right-hander T. J. Stanton. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm and our Heartland Health Pre-Game Show at www.stjoeblacksnakes.com will begin at 6:45pm.
