Breen Celebrates Birthday with Walk-Off Winner for Aviators

June 19, 2015 - Frontier League (FL) - Rockford Aviators News Release

Ryan Breen's single over a drawn in infield in the bottom of the 10th scored Dusty Robinson from third base as the Rockford Aviators (21-9) defeated the Schaumburg Boomers 4-3 in Frontier League baseball action Friday night at Aviators Stadium in Loves Park, IL.

Breen's walk off hit (on his 26th birthday) spoiled a comeback by the Boomers (14-17) who had rallied from a 3-0 deficit to force extra innings by scoring twice in the eighth and once in the ninth, the last run coming against Rockford closer Michael Schaub, who surrendered his first earned run of the season. Pat Dolan (2-1) posted the win while Hiideyoshi Otake (2-1) suffered the loss.

The two teams continue their series Saturday night (7:05 pm) at Aviators Stadium before wrapping up the three game set on Sunday afternoon (3:05 pm). Call the Aviators Office for tickets and information, or go to rockfordaviators.com.
