
Braves Win Third Straight

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves defeated the West Virginia Power 12-6 in front of 2,640 fans at State Mutual Stadium Sunday in a high scoring afternoon affair.
In the first inning the Power scored twice as Jeremy Farrell was hit by a pitch and Kyle Morgan homered to right for the 2-0 score. The Braves made it a 2-1 game in the bottom of the inning when Joel Campusano walked and moved to third on two wild pitches and later scored on a Braeden Schlehuber sacrifice fly.
In the second, West Virginia's Bobby Spain was hit by a pitch and moved to third on a single by Greg Picart and Adenson Chourio followed with a single scoring Spain making it 3-1. Rome tied the contest 3-3 in the bottom of the second on an RBI single by Chaise Fuller and an RBI sacrifice bunt by Ryan Barba.
The Braves took the lead for good in the fourth inning scoring four runs highlighted by a two run home run by Joel Campusano and a two RBI double by Shayne Moody.
West Virginia added a run in the fifth on a wild pitch by J.J. Hoover for the 7-4 score. The Power made it a 7-6 game in the seventh highlighted by a two RBI triple by Jeremy Farrell.
Rome bounced back with another four run inning in the bottom half of the seventh on a two RBI double by Adam Milligan and another two RBI double by Samuel Sime. Rome went on two win the game 12-6.
J.J. Hoover (4-4) gets the win for the Braves pitching six innings giving up four runs and striking out four. Quinton Miller (0-2) gets the loss for the Power and Yeliar Castro earns the save.
