Braves Walk off in Extras

Rome, GA: The Augusta GreenJackets, South Atlantic League affiliate of San Francisco Giants, lost 6-5 to the Rome Braves in 10 innings on Monday night.

The GreenJackets got off to a great start in the ballgame. With the bases loaded and no outs in the top of the first, Ryan Kirby singled to center field to score two. Later in the inning, Trevor Abrams singled into right field to score Kirby and give Augusta a 3-0 lead.

After the Braves put up one run in both the third and fourth innings, the GreenJackets would make the lead three runs again. Heliot Ramos would single into right field with 2-outs to score Logan Baldwin and Abrams to give the GreenJackets a 5-2 lead in the sixth inning.

The Braves would make a comeback by putting up two runs in the seventh inning and then one in the eighth. The game would then head to the 10th inning, where the GreenJackets failed to score in the top of the inning. The Braves took advantage as Brendan Venter singled to right field to knock home the winning run.

The GreenJackets still won the series 2-1 and went 3-3 on the road trip. The GreenJackets will be back in action Wednesday night at 7:05 pm against the Lexington Legends at SRP Park.

After the six game road trip, the GreenJackets will be at home for a seven game homestand. On July11th against the Lexington Legends, we will have 9 Innings of Networking! Then on the 12th, The CSRA's Biggest Sock Hop!
