Rome, GA - The Rome Braves won game three of their four game series against the Columbus Catfish 8-7 in front of 3,124 fans at State Mutual Stadium.

The Catfish jumped out to a three run lead in the first inning as Ivan DeJesus walked to begin the inning and moved to third on a single to left by Russ Mitchell. A pitch then hit Jason Mooneyham moving Mitchell to second and a wild pitch from Jeff Lyman with Drew Locke at the plate would score DeJesus and give both the runners an extra bag. Locke would then drive one to right field for a two RBI single to give the Catfish a 3-0 lead. Columbus would add another in the top of the second on a solo homer from Tony Harper. The Braves would cut the Catfish lead in half in the bottom of the inning as Eric Campbell led off with a double and scored on a Jamie Romak double to center field. Romak would advance to third on a ground out by Quentin Davis and later score on another ground out by Cody Clark making the score to 4-2. The Catfish added a fifth run in the top of the fourth on a solo homerun from Brandon Carter. The Braves exploded in the fourth inning scoring five runs as Brandon Monk added a two RBI single to be followed by an RBI single from Elvis Andrus. Monk was later scored on a bases loaded walk. Eric Campbell would record the final RBI of the inning with a sacrifice fly to give Rome a 7-5 lead. Columbus would tied the game in the eighth, but the Braves battled back for what would be the winning run as Elvis Andrus registered his second RBI single of the night to score Ovandy Suero giving Rome the 8-7 advantage.

Devin Anderson pitching in relief earned the victory (1-0) while Matt Gomez de Segura (0-2) takes the loss for the Catfish. Rudy Quinonez picked up his third save for the Braves, pitching two-thirds of an inning and recording one strikeout.

Roster Moves: Pitcher Nelson Payano has been sent to Myrtle Beach of the Carolina League. Payano was 2-3 with a 2.77 ERA in ten appearances. Rome receives pitcher Asher Demme and infielder Manny Rodriguez from extended spring training in Orlando. Demme pitched for Rome earlier in the season and was 1-0.
