Braves Drop Third Straight to Hot Rods

Rome, GA - Bowling Green shut out Rome Thursday night by a final score of 5-0 before 2,276 fans. Hot Rods pitching held the Braves to just two hits on the night.

The Hot Rods scored in the first inning to take a 1-0 lead on a two out home run by Jake Jefferies (5). Bowling Green added three more runs in the second for the 4-0 advantage when Robi Estrada reached first on a fielding error by shortstop Ryan Barba allowing John Mollicone and Jason Tweedy to cross the plate.

In the fourth, Anthony Scelfo singled to left to score Robi Estrada to make it a 5-0 game. Bowling Green pitching gave up just two hits and struck out five Braves batters en route to the win.

Nick Barnese earns the victory (3-1) and Rome's Zeke Spruill (7-4) gets the loss.
