
Braves Break Down with Jacksonville Comeback

Jacksonville, FL - In the 4th game of a 5 game series, the Jacksonville Suns used a five run 6th inning and a four run 8th to beat the M-Braves 10-4. The series is now tied at 2 games apiece with the final game tomorrow.
Jacksonville scored in the first inning as Lorenzo Scott scored on a sac fly from Michael Stanton to make the score 1-0, Suns. A double play got Scott Diamond and the Braves out of the inning; it was the first of three double plays turned by Mississippi.
The Braves took the lead in the 2nd inning with Cody Johnson's 3rd home run of the series and 5th of the season. A lead off walk to Donell Linares put a man on and Cody Johnson pounded a Jose Rosario pitch into the bleachers in right field. After two innings, the Braves led 2-1.
In the top of the 6th inning, the Braves added onto the lead with one run. Singles from Cody Johnson and Concepcion Rodriguez helped bring in Johnson after he stole second and third base. After five and a half innings, the Braves led 3-1.
The bottom of the inning would bring on heartbreak for the Braves. Brandon Tripp led off the inning with a homer to make the score 3-2, Mississippi. the next two batters singled and Stanton was intentionally walked to load the bases with nobody out. Scott Diamond struck out the next two batters and was close to getting out of the 6th inning with a lead. Matt Dominguez was the next batter and after a long duel with a 3-2 count, he took ball four, which tied the game at 3.
Michael Broadway came on in relief and rendered a 3-RBI double to Tim Torres to make the score 6-3 Suns, and they wouldn't look back.
In the 8th, the Suns led off the inning with a Michael Stanton home run to make the score 7-3. Two outs later, the Suns got hits from Dominguez, Hatcher and Tripp to score 3 more runs and make the score 10-3 Jacksonville after the 8th inning.
In the 9th, the Braves collected two base hits. The first was a single by Luis Bolivar, and the other a double by Mauro Gomez. Mississippi got one run in the 9th but that would be all and the final was 10-4 Suns.
The final game of the series is tomorrow at 10:05 CST. The Braves will pitch RHP Erik Cordier (1-1; 3.15) and the Suns will pitch RHP Brad Stone (1-1; 2.39).
