
Braves And Bulls Suspended By Rain

Richmond, VA - The International League game between the Richmond Braves and the Durham Bulls Saturday at The Diamond was suspended by rain in the top of the fourth inning with Richmond in front 11-0. The two clubs will pick the game up Sunday at 1 PM, followed by the regularly scheduled contest which will be a seven inning affair.
The Braves blew the game open in the bottom of the first. The first 10 Braves hitters all scored runs. Carlos Mendez doubled three home. Gregor Blanco and Yunel Escobar each smacked two-run doubles. Martin Prado, Doug Clark, and T.J. Bohn also knocked in runs as Richmond enjoyed a 10 run inning for the first time since 1999. Gregor Blanco drilled a home run in the third to make it 11-0.
Blanco has three of the Braves nine hits. Jonathan Johnson worked three and a third innings without allowing a run for Richmond. The game will continue with Chris Richard on at first with one out in the top of the fourth and Joel Guzman at the plate.
Following the completion of the suspended contest the two clubs will play Sunday's regularly scheduled game. Buddy Carlyle will pitch for Richmond against the Bulls Jason Hammel.
