
Brandon Phillips Joins Lowell Spinners

LOWELL, MA - Brandon Phillips has been assigned to the Lowell Spinners to begin his 2018 season starting on Saturday, July 7.
Phillips signed with the Boston Red Sox on June 27 as a free agent after spending 16 seasons in the big leagues. He split time between the Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Angels, and most notably the Cincinnati Reds for 11 seasons. Over the course of his career, Phillips has been named a three-time All-Star, four-time Gold Glove winner, and a silver slugger appearing in just under 1,900 games over the course of his career.
There is no word yet on when Phillips will begin seeing game action though he is officially on the active roster.
In a corresponding roster move, the Red Sox have promoted top prospect Michael Chavis to the AA-Portland Sea Dogs.
