Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas - The weather outside the NYTEX Sports Centre was cold, but it was hot inside as the Brahmas led by an Anders Strome hat trick knocked down the Thunder 7-2 Friday evening.

Strome's first goal came on the first Texas shot in the game at the 4:25 mark in the opening period on the Thunder's newest goaltender, Adam Dekker. Wichita's Jason Duda evened things up when :32 seconds later beat Brahmas netminder Brett Jaeger.

Strome's offense continued when Texas was down a man for his first shorthanded goal of the season and second of the night. The Brahmas went into the first intermission up 2-1.

The second period was full of unanswered goals on Dekker as Mark Carragher recorded his fifth and sixth goals of the season and Skworchinski had a powerplay goal. Strome was able to net his hat trick on the powerplay as well to notch his team leading 34th goal of the season.

The Thunder tested Jaeger in the final period peppering 19 shots his way, but were unable to find a miracle, earning only a Mike Lukajic powerplay goal. Brahmas forward Skworchinski put Wichita away with his second goal and fifth point of the evening (2 G, 3 A) to ultimately give the Brahmas their sixth consecutive victory.

The Brahmas play again tomorrow evening at the NYTEX Sports Centre to face the Oklahoma City Blazers for a 7:05 PM start. The first 500 fans at the game will receive a Brahmas bracelet courtesy of the Texas Brahmas Fan Club. For ticket information please contact the Brahmas Box Office at (817) 336-4423.
