BRAHMAS SKATERS AND STAFFERS STAY IN THE CHL:

Konrad Brand, Larry Sterling, and Matt Coughlin, all of whom wore a Brahmas uniform last season, have signed in Bossier-Shreveport, Memphis, and Wichita respectively. Aaron Davis, a Brahmas player from 2003-2005, will play for the Austin Ice Bats once again this coming October. Two former Brahmas employees, Bill Yates and Carter Lewis, have also relocated to new CHL homes. Yates, who served as the Brahmas' Executive Vice President, is now the Assistant General Manager for the Corpus Christi Rayz. Carter Lewis, one of the Brahmas' Corporate Account Managers during the 2005-2006 season, is an Account Executive on the staff of the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees.
CHL NEWS AND NOTES:
The Amarillo Gorillas are in the market for a new head coach. Joe Ferras, who had been with the Gorillas for the last five seasons, accepted an Assistant Coaching position with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League on July 21. Filling the shoes of Ferras will be a tough task for Gorillas management as the highly successful bench boss led Amarillo to four straight CHL Southern Conference playoff berths and back-to-back CHL Southern Conference Finals appearances in 2003-2004 and 2004-2005...Two CHL expansion franchises will make their on-ice debut this fall when the CHL begins its 15th Anniversary Season. The Rocky Mountain Rage, located in Broomfield, Colorado, and the Arizona Sundogs, based in Prescott Valley, Arizona, are the newest members of the CHL family. Additionally, the New Mexico Scorpions will return to play this season in the brand new Santa Ana Star Center in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Altogether, the CHL will have 17 teams competing in 9 states during the 2006-2007 campaign.
