Corpus Christi IceRays News Release
As part of a preliminary release of the 2006-2007 Central Hockey League schedule, the Corpus Christi Rayz in conjunction with the CHL announced Friday that they will begin their ninth season of professional hockey at the American Bank Center versus the Laredo Bucks on Saturday, October 21, 2006 at 7:05pm. The complete Rayz 2006-2007 schedule will be released on Monday afternoon. For ticket information, please call the Rayz at (361) 814-PUCK.
The Rayz are 2-0 lifetime in home opening games since they moved into the American Bank Center Arena in the Fall of 2004. The Rayz opened the American Bank Center on November 5, 2004 with an exciting 6-4 win over the Bucks. Last year the Rayz traded blows with the Austin Ice Bats before claiming a 6-5 victory to kick off their home schedule. October's match-up will be the first time in the American Bank Center era that the Rayz will begin the season at home. The last time the Rayz played their first game of the season on home ice was on October 16, 2003 when they fell 5-4 in a shootout to the New Mexico Scorpions at the Memorial Coliseum. The Rayz have an all-time record of 4-6-2 against the Bucks in the American Bank Center, and have points in three of their last five meetings with Laredo.
The Corpus Christi Rayz are currently in preparation for the 2006-2007 season. The Rayz return to the American Bank Center is only 78 days away. Corpus Christi will begin their season at home on October 21st vs. the Laredo Bucks at 7:05pm. Season ticket packages and corporate sponsorship opportunities are currently available.
