Brahmas Drop Second Straight to Allen

ALLEN, Texas (February 26) - The Brahmas lost their second consecutive game to the Americans Tuesday night, falling by the final score of 3-1.
After a scoreless first period, each team notched a power-play goal in the middle frame. Kale Kerbashian fired a wrister form the left face-off circle by Brahmas netminder Brad Fogal at 1:59 to give Allen a 1-0 lead. The Brahmas responded at the 17:40 mark when Austin Mayer buried home a rebound in front of the Allen net to even the score at 1-1. For Mayer, the score was his ninth of the season and fifth in the last seven games. Sy Nutkevitch and Tomas Klempa assisted on the goal, giving each player 30 helpers this season.
The Americans regained a one-goal lead at 4:37 of the third period when a shielded Fogal allowed Garrett Clarke's wrister from the point to find its way into the back of the net.
Jamie Schaafsma added a wrap-around score at 11:51 to give Allen a 3-1 edge.
Fogal made 12 saves on 15 shots faced in net for the Brahmas, falling to 12-10-2 this season. Aaron Dell stopped 18 of 19 shots between the posts for the Americans, earning his 16th win.
Both teams struggled on the man advantage. Fort Worth was 1-for-8 on the power play, while Allen was 1-for-7.
With the loss, the Brahmas fall to five points behind Allen for first place in the CHL. The team is still one point ahead of the Wichita Thunder for second place.
Fort Worth continues its current four-game road trip Friday, March 1 in Bloomington to take on the Blaze for the third and final time this season. That Brahmas are 1-1-0 versus Bloomington this season.
The team is back in action at the NYTEX Sports Centre Wednesday, March 6 when they face off against the Wichita Thunder at 7:30pm on Beer League Night. The Brahmas will wear specialty jerseys which will be autographed and auctioned off immediately following the game.
