Brahmas Bury Americans Behind Six Straight Goals

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas - The Brahmas offense erupted Saturday night in a 6-1 victory over the Allen Americans.

Brian McMillin notched his 11th goal of the season and gave Allen a 1-0 lead at 4:24 of the first period.

The Brahmas responded with six consecutive goals. John Snowden continued his stellar play with two scores, giving the Everett, Washington native 25 this season. 23 of Snowden's goals have come in a Brahmas uniform.

In his first game back from his one-game stint with the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League, Phil Fox netted a goal and two assists. For Fox, the score was his 19th of the season in only 31 games. Fort Worth captain Ross Rouleau, Sy Nutkevitch and Austin Mayer each added a score as well.

At the 6:28 mark of the third period, a line brawl ensued which ejected six players, including both goaltenders, and both head coaches. After an initial fight between Daniel Barnes and Mike Berube, multiple secondary scrums broke out. There were 200 penalty minutes handed out in the game.

Kristofer Westblom made 19 saves on 20 shots in 46:28 before being ejected. Brad Fogal stopped the only shot he faced. Steve Silverthorn made 26 saves on 30 shots in 53:23. Aaron Dell stopped three of five shots faced before he was ejected in the line brawl.

With the win, Fort Worth gains two points on Allen and moves to within just one point of first place.

The Brahmas and Americans face off again tomorrow, Sunday, February 24 at 4:05pm at the Allen Event Center. Fort Worth is back at the NYTEX Sports Centre Wednesday, March 6 when they take on the Wichita Thunder for Beer League Night.
