Fort Worth Brahmas News Release
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (December 23)-Texas gave their fans an early Christmas present Tuesday evening at the CenturyTel Center in Bossier City, defeating the Mudbugs 4-3, their sixth consecutive victory over Bossier.
Tyler Skworchinski put Texas up in the first with his sixth goal of the season from Kevin McLeod and Craig Minard on the powerplay. Eight minutes later Grant Jacobsen added a goal of his own from Minard and Matt Burto on only Texas' second shot of the night.
The Skworchinski offensive show continued in the second period when he was able to take a feed from Jordan Cameron to beat Mudbugs goaltender Jon Horell for a shorthanded goal and give the Brahmas the 3-0 lead. The goal prompted a goaltender change for Bossier as Ryan Mior replaced Horell between the pipes. It was not until the three minutes into the second when Bossier was able to find the back of Brahmas' goaltender Brett Jaeger's net, putting them within two shots.
The powerplay was successful once again, this time coming from the stick of defenseman Kevin McLeod. Minard picked up his third assist of the night, Cameron his second point.
The Brahmas had to play most of the third without Head Coach Dan Wildfong as he was given a game misconduct at the 3:38 mark, leaving Ron Vogel full coaching responsibilities. Mudbugs rallied with goals from Todd Paul and David Pszenyczny, making it 4-3 Texas. The last six minutes of play proved to be crucial, but it was stellar play from Jaeger that earned the Brahmas their third win in as many games.
Texas went 2-for-8 on the powerplay and Jaeger stopped 32 of 35 shots for his tenth victory of the season.
