Sundogs and Eagles Power Play Showcase on December 13 Voted CHL Performance of the Week

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs Hockey Club, in conjunction with the Central Hockey League, today announced that its CHL record-tying 10 combined power play goals with the Colorado Eagles on Saturday, Dec. 13 has been voted the winner of the CHL Performance of the Week for week nine. The Eagles won the Ray Miron President's Cup rematch by a final score of 7-5.

Each team finished 5-for-12 with the man advantage in the game with Joel Irving (ARZ), Adam Perry (ARZ) and Ryan Tobler (COL) each scoring a pair of power play goals for their respective teams. The first nine goals of the game were scored on the power play.

The Sundogs' and Eagles' power play exhibition received 36% of the 624 votes cast. Amarillo goaltender Mike Gorman's 48-save performance in the Gorillas' victory over Colorado on Friday, Dec. 12 finished second in voting.

Nominees for CHL Performance of the Week for week 10 (Dec. 15-21) include:

- Rapid City's three-goal third period in a 3-2 win versus Rocky Mountain on Dec. 16

- OKC's 3-2 shootout win over Colorado on Dec. 17

- Corpus Christi's Kris Tebbs making 31 saves in the IceRays' 2-1 win over Odessa on Dec. 18, ending the Jackalopes' 11-game win streak

- Wichita's Tim Boron making 53 saves in a 2-1 win over Mississippi on Dec. 19

- Laredo's Darryl Smith scoring the game winning goal with 16 seconds remaining in the Bucks 5-4 win over Corpus Christi on Dec. 20

Fans can vote for the winner through Monday, Dec. 29. The winner will be announced on Tuesday, Dec. 30.
