NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (November 17) - The Texas Brahmas have announced new members of the communications department - Josh Tannenbaum takes over as Director of Communications, Rachel Shrader is the new Communications Intern, and Josh Hirsch is the team's new broadcaster.
Josh Tannenbaum begins his first season with the Brahmas after graduating from Indiana University with a bachelor's degree in journalism. Before moving to North Richland Hills, Josh lived in New York City, where he interned for the NHL in the finance department during the summer of 2007 and worked for various other media organizations such as the Huffington Post and Fox5 News.
Rachel Shrader is also entering her first season with the Brahmas organization. A graduate of the University of Dallas, Shrader worked as a sports reporter in college. She also worked for the Dallas-Fort Worth Tornados Soccer Club as Marketing and Financial Assistant, where she handled ad campaigns, public relations, and marketing duties, among other responsibilities.
Josh Hirsch is the first Brahmas broadcaster since the team moved to North Richland Hills over four years ago. He also works in the front office and is the announcer for the Grand Prairie AirHogs, an independent minor league baseball team in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Hirsch previously worked for minor league clubs in San Angelo, Texas, and Shreveport, Louisiana as well. A Long Island, New York native, Hirsch graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, where he called baseball, football and basketball games.
As part of the announcement, the Brahmas have initiated a new broadcasting setup. It includes all home games being called with a local feed. In addition, the Brahmas have added an audio only option on its team website courtesy of Ustream for all home games and selected away games.
"We are very excited about our new changes," said Brahmas President Mike Barack. "This will allow our fans to enjoy game broadcasts as well as changes with the team's website and various other social media campaigns."
