Brady Brassart records second playoff hat trick in the semi-final series opener

Calgary, AB - Brady Brassart scored his second WHL career hat trick as the Calgary Hitmen defeated the Red Deer Rebels 4-2 in the Eastern Conference Semi-Final series opener Thursday evening at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Captain Cody Sylvester (3a) and assistant captain Spencer Humphries (2a) also had multi-point efforts for Calgary, while Alex Roach recorded his second goal of the post-season in the win.

Calgary Flames' prospect Turner Elson and Dominik Volek each scored for the Rebels in the losing cause.

Chris Driedger made 28 saves to record the win as Calgary outshot Red Deer 33-30.

The Husky WHL Eastern Conference Semi-Final continues tomorrow, Friday, April 5, with Game 2 of the best-of-seven series. Puck drop is 7:30 p.m. at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
