Frisco RoughRiders News Release
FRISCO, Texas - The Frisco RoughRiders had plenty of offense to back their ninth shutout of the season in an 8-0 win over the Arkansas Travelers on Wednesday night from Riders Field.
Cody Bradford (1-0) was brilliant in his start for the RoughRiders (53-37), throwing a career-high seven innings while allowing just four hits and striking out nine. Juan Carlos Mejia and Grant Anderson both threw a scoreless inning apiece from the bullpen to complete the shutout. The Riders held the Travelers (48-43) to just five hits in the win.
On offense, Frisco scored three in the fourth on an RBI fielder's choice from Justin Foscue, a Blain Crim RBI double and an RBI single from Sam Huff.
Bubba Thompson then ripped an RBI double in the fifth to increase the lead to 4-0 before Crim bashed a solo shot in the sixth to move the lead to 5-0. Crim, who now has a 10-game hitting streak, hit his fourth home run for Frisco and his 24th on the season between Frisco and High-A Hickory.
In the bottom of the seventh, Jax Biggers hammered his second long ball of the year, a solo home run, to make it 6-0.
Both Miguel Aparicio and Jordan Procyshen then hit back-to-back RBI doubles to push the lead to 8-0.
Emerson Hancock (0-1) took the loss for Arkansas, ceding three runs over his four innings.
