
Brad Hawpe Makes MLB Return with Angels

SALT LAKE CITY - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announced today that the club has recalled outfielder Brad Hawpe from Triple-A Salt Lake.
Hawpe, 33, has appeared in 37 games for the Bees in 2013, hitting .305 with 21 runs, 40 hits, eight doubles, six home runs and 28 RBI. His first appearance with the Angels will mark his first big league appearance since June 18, 2011 with the San Diego Padres.
A veteran of eight major league seasons, Hawpe owns a .276 batting average with 124 home runs, 176 doubles and 490 RBI. Originally selected by the Colorado Rockies in the 11th round of the 2000 Draft, he reached All-Star status with the Rockies in 2009. The Fort Worth, Texas native has also appeared in games with the Tampa Bay Rays.
The Bees continue a four-game home series tonight against the Fresno Grizzlies at 7:05 p.m. at Spring Mobile Ballpark. The game will feature the Tavernacle's Dueling Pianos and a postgame fireworks show. For more information, call (801) 325-BEES or visit slbees.com.
