Iowa Cubs News Release
Des Moines, IA - The Chicago Cubs have activated RH Barret Loux from the disabled list and he will start game two of today's day/night double-header at Principal Park.
Loux has been on the disabled list since May 28 with a sprained right ankle. It was his second stint on the DL. He was also out April 26-May 8 with the same injury. Loux is 3-2 with a 6.29 ERA (24ER/34.1IP) in eight starts with Iowa this season. He won his last start on May 26 in game one of a double-header against Oklahoma City and is 3-0 with a 1.69 ERA (4ER/21.1IP) in four starts at Principal Park.
The Cubs host the Round Rock Express for two games today to make up for a game lost to snow on May 2. The first game start at 12:05 and the gates open at 10:35. RH Nick Struck (3-4, 6.35) will pitch for the Cubs against RH Jake Brigham (0-1, 9.00) for the Express. Game two will begin at 7:05 pm and fans will need a separate ticket for each game. Loux will square off against RH Josh Lindblom (6-0, 2.04) in the night cap. Both games will be broadcast live on AM 940 and streamed live at iowacubs.com with the On-Deck Circle Pre-Game Show starting 20 minutes before the scheduled first pitch of each game.
