Drayson Bowman had two goals and an assist and the Chiefs scored five for the fourth time in a row at home as Spokane handed the Kamloops Blazers a 5- 2 defeat in the Arena on Friday night.

The Chiefs are now 8-1-0-2 with points in 10 straight games. They will face off on Saturday night in Kennewick against the second place Tri-City Americans. Spokane's 16 points are four better than the Americans total in second place.

The Chiefs opened a wild 1:20 stretch in the first period with the first of three goals in the span. Seth Compton began the scoring with a rebound from the left circle at 9:25, 25-seconds before the Blazer's Dalibor Bortnak scored to tie the game. Tyler Johnson's goal on an odd man rush then gave the Chiefs a 2-1 lead at 10:46. Ryan Letts shot from the left wing on a two-on-one was stopped, but kicked directly to Johnson for his third goal of the year.

Bowman's toe drag opened him up in the slot at 2:18 of the second, with assists coming from Mitch Wahl and Stefan Ulmer, who had two helpers. The Blazers pulled back within one at 4:40 on the power play.

Just 15-seconds into the third, Bowman broke in all alone on Justin LeClerc for a power play goal. Wahl and Jared Spurgeon picked up the assists.

Jared Cowen's wrist shot at 6:23 finished the scoring.

The Chiefs outshot Kamloops 44-25, went 1-3 on the power play and 7-8 on the penalty kill.

Saturday night's game will be seen live on Comcast channel 78 at 7:00. Mike Boyle will go on the air at 6:30 on 1510 KGA with Comcast Hockey Tonight.

The Chiefs will then play two in a row next weekend, including Boomer's Birthday on Friday, October 24th against the Seattle Thunderbirds.

The first 3,000 fans through the gates on Saturday, October 25th will receive a free Chiefs Championship Calendar courtesy of Fred Meyer. Spokane will host the Prince George Cougars.
