Harrisburg Senators News Release
The Bowie Baysox evened the series with the Senators on Saturday night with a 2-0 win in front of 3,212 fans at a chilly Metro Bank Park. Bowie scored two runs in the first inning and made those two runs hold up all night.
The two teams combined to strand 22 runners and went a combined 1-21 with runners in scoring position. Harrisburg had the strike out pitch working again tonight as five Sens pitchers combined to strike out the Baysox 13 times. Ryan Tatusko started for the Sens and went four innings, striking out five but walking four. The Sens walked eight batters, though none of the walks figured in the scoring.
Jimmy Barthmaier, Cory VanAllen, Jeff Mandel and Hassan Pena combined to pitch five scoreless innings while striking out eight hitters and allowing just three Baysox hits.
Josh Johnson, Derek Norris and Buck Coats all had a hit apiece for the Sens. Johnson's was a double to lead-off the third inning but he was left stranded at second base.
The series finale is on Sunday afternoon at 2:00pm with RH Luis Atilano on the mound for the Sens opposed by LH Rick Zagone for Bowie. The game can be heard on 1460am The Ticket and over the Internet at senatorsbaeball.com starting with the pre-game show at 1:45 p.m.
