Harrisburg Senators News Release

The Bowie Baysox scored seven runs in the sixth, seventh, and eighth innings to break the game wide open, and eventually defeated the Harrisburg Senators 9-0 in game two of the teams' four-game series at Metro Bank Park. The game was a 10:30 AM start, and was officially played in front of 3536 fans.

Zach Britton (2-2) threw five shutout innings, and the Baysox (14-12) piled on runs late to preserve his victory. Jeff Mandel (0-4) took the loss for the Senators (10-15), after allowing eleven hits and five runs in five and a third innings.

The Senators managed just three hits in the game, off the bats of Danny Espinosa, Michael Daniel, and Pedro Lopez. Only one runner reached second base or beyond, when Lopez advanced to second on a wild pitch in the third inning. Bowie collected sixteen hits in all, getting four from Joel Guzman, and three apiece from Matt Tucker and Phillip Britton. Pedro Florimon and Tyler Henson each drove in two runs for the Baysox.

The Baysox have now won the first two games of the series, and the Senators have dropped five straight. The Sens will look to get back on the winning track on Wednesday night at 7 PM, when Aaron Thompson (1-2, 2.82) takes the mound for game three of the series. He will oppose Steve Johnson (0-2, 4.32) of Bowie. Radio coverage of game three begins at 6:45 PM, on 1460 AM The Ticket, and www.senatorsbaseball.com.
