
Bowen, Williams smash Mad Ants

AUSTIN, TX - Justin Bowen scored a season-high 32 points, Marcus Williams added 24 as the Austin Toros beat the Fort Wayne Mad Ants 119-108 on Friday night.
Austin has won two straight games (22-11) and remains in first place in the Southwest Division. Fort Wayne has lost two straight games (12-21) and fall to 0-2 this season against the Toros. The Toros bench contributed an impressive 62 points to help the Toros improve their home record to 15-4.
Earl Calloway led the Mad Ants with 25 points and seven assists, Corey Minnifield added 17 and newly acquired James Peters chipped in 22. Calloway also grabbed seven rebounds.
Other players scoring in double figures for the Toros included 15 points from San Antonio Spurs assignee Ian Mahinmi, 12 from Cheyne Gadson and 11 from DerMarr Johnson. Andre Barrett, who was acquired this week in a trade with Bakersfield in exchange for Justin Reed, started his first game in Austin and recorded 11 points and five assists.
The Toros return to the court tomorrow night to take on the Anaheim Arsenal at the Austin Convention Center in the second game of a weekend double header.
