Utah Flash News Release
OREM, Utah, Feb. 29, 2008- A 25-foot bank shot by Kevin Kruger with 2.5 seconds to play in regulation forced overtime and capped a furious rally that brought the Utah Flash from 11 points down in the final two minutes on the way to a 103-99 victory over the Anaheim Arsenal Friday at the McKay Events Center.
Brian Hamilton took over for the Flash in the overtime, scoring six points and grabbing three rebounds as the Flash improved to 18-17 on the season. Anaheim dropped to 13-21.
"I'm pretty sure Kevin called bank on that one." Flash head coach Brad Jones said.
"We have preached and preached all season to these guys about playing the complete 48 minutes of a game." Jones added. "It would have been easy to lie down and quit, but those guys didn't.
James Lang and Hamilton each recorded double-doubles for the Flash. Lang finished with 21 points and 13 rebounds, while Hamilton had 17 and 15 boards. Kruger had 13 points, including 3-of-4 shooting from beyond the arc.
"Size is always a big advantage for me in the post and I took advantage of it tonight and the results were good." Lang said.
Morris Almond had 17 and Brian Jackson 13 for the Flash. Curtis Stinson came off the Flash bench to dish out season-high 11 assists as Utah assisted on 26 of its 40 baskets on the night.
