
Boulders Welcome Japanese All-Stars to Provident Bank Park

(POMONA, NY) -As part of the Can-Am League's International Showcase, the Rockland Boulders will play host to the Shikoku Island League Japanese All-Stars in a four-game series from June 18-21 at Provident Bank Park. Far East Weekend, presented by Konica Minolta, will be jam packed with themes and traditions that fans of both teams will enjoy.
"We have turned many visions into reality since we commenced this project in 2009," said Ken Lehner, President. "However, assure you no one ever envisioned that one day we would be hosting a team of Japanese All-Star players at Provident Bank Park. This could very well be a one time opportunity so we strongly encourage families, particularly on Father's Day weekend, to come out and witness this historic matchup."
It all begins on Thursday, June 18 with Teacher Appreciation Day, sponsored by the NY529 College Direct Savings Program and Ramapo College of New Jersey. Be sure to come early for a special pre-game gift exchange between the two teams. It's also "Thirsty Thursday" with $1 Bud & Bud Light drafts as well as $1 Cokes, plus a $3 Mystery Craft Beer in the Boulders Brew Pub. After the game, Heated Xchange takes the Craft Beer Stage for a special acoustic show.
Friday, June 19 is Bergen Boulders Day, an ode to the loyal fans from Bergen County, New Jersey. Don't' miss out on $2 Bud and Bud Light drafts as well as $2 Cokes. After the game, fans will be treated to a special Fireworks Extravaganza with a live performance featuring 80's favorites from the DOBLER band to follow in the Bud Light Bridge Bar on the Sani Professional Stage.
On Saturday, June 20, come help celebrate BoulderBird's 5th birthday with area mascots. The first 1,000 fans entering the ballpark will receive Boulders clappers. Join in on the fun with face painting and balloon animals from Party by Lisa! Arrive early as pre-game the World Championship of Midget Wrestling will take place when Little Kato and Beautiful Bobby Dean face off in the ring and then stay late as the Saturday night Fireworks Extravaganza will explode in the night sky.
For the fifth straight year the Boulders will host a special Father's Day matchup, featuring a post-game catch on the field. This season, the whole family can celebrate with Dad, including dogs, as its Pups in the Park, presented by Pet Palace plus Kids Run the Bases, sponsored by Tiara Jewelers. Fans can give Dad the gift of baseball with the "Father's Day Pack" of four (4) infield box seats, four (4) hot dogs, bags of chips, and Cokes for only $49!
