New York Boulders News Release
(Ramapo, NY) Dan Jurik (2-1) pitched into the seventh inning, allowing only one run as the Rockland Boulders took the rubber-match of a three-game set from the Worcester Tornadoes 5-1 at Proveident Bank Park.
Ryan Scoma went 2-4 with 3 RBI to lead the Boulders, who have now won six of nine games from Worcester this season.
Jurik, making only his second start of the year, scattered seven hits over 6.2 innings of work. The lone Worcester run came on an RBI single by Brendon Kelliher in the 5th.
Rockland jumped out early against Tornadoes' starter Ryan Bicondoa (0-3), scoring two runs in the bottom of the 1st on a running scoring double by Keith Brachold and an RBI single by Scoma.
Scoma's two-run single in the 3rd pushed Rockland's lead out to 4-0 and the Boulders never looked back.
Rockland continues its ten-game homestand Monday evening when they open up a four-game series with the Grand Prairie AirHogs of the American Association. Bobby Blevins (3-3, 3.43 ERA) takes the hill for the Boulders.
