The Rockland Boulders lost a heartbreaker on Saturday night, falling 3-2 to the Sussex County Miners in 11 innings. The Boulders gave starter Zach Jemiola a 1-0 lead early, and Jemiola backed it up with five scoreless innings, but Sussex County grabbed two in the seventh to take the lead.
Rockland tied it up in the ninth, when Grant Heyman launched a solo homer to make it 2-2. The score remained that way until the bottom of the 11th, when the Miners got the first two on and Jarred Mederos singled home the winning run.
The two teams conclude their weekend set tomorrow night at Palisades Credit Union Park. First pitch for the series finale is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
