Tri-City's Zach Biermann slides safely into home plate under tag of New York Bouders' Phil Capra in third inning

Rockland County, NY - Zach Kirtley drove in four runs and scored three times to pace the New York Boulders to a 13-7 win over the Tri-City Valley Cats on Saturday at Palisades Credit Union Park.
Kirtley ended the night with three hits, as did Tucker Nathans and Kevonte Mitchell.
Nathans scored three times and drove in three runs, while Mitchell scored three times. Phil Caulfield and Max Smith each ended the evening with two RBI.
The win snapped a five-game losing streak for the Boulders, who had 16 hits in the victory.
Brad Zunica had four RBI in the loss for Tri-City.
The Boulders overcame 5-2 deficit to take a 7-5 lead with a run in the third and four more in the fifth.
In the third, Kirtley's groundout scored Mitchell to make it a 5-3 game. Two innings later, New York knocked Tri-City starter Jake Dexter out with three hits to open the frame - successive doubles by Mitchell and Kirtley and a single by Nathans, those hits tying the contest at 5-5.
Jervic Chavez relieved Dexter and struggled with his control. After striking out Marcus Mastrobuoni, Chavez walked three straight batters, the last being Smith which forced in the lead run. Caulfield then picked up an RBI on a fielder's choice that gave the Boulders a 7-5 advantage.
New York added two runs in the sixth to extend their lead to 9-5 on successive solo home runs by Kirtley and Nathans. For Kirtley, the long ball was his 15th of the season, while the homer for Nathans gave him 11 for the year,
In the eighth, Kirtley's second double of the night plated Jack Sundberg with New York's 10th run. Sundberg had singled leading off the frame and then stole second and third - giving him 47 stolen bases for the year and tying the Boulders' single season mark set back in 2016 by Junio Arrojo.
Nathans followed with a single that scored Kirtley and increased the New York lead to 11-5. Later in the inning, Smith's RBI single and a bases loaded walk to Caulfield made it a 13-5 game.
The Boulders jumped out to a 2-0 first inning lead, one run coming on an error by Valley Cats' centerfielder Carlos Machado, the second on a Ray Hernandez single.
Tri-City answered with a solo home run in the second by Jhon Nunez, his first of the season; then tacked on four in the third on a three-run homer by Zunica, his 12th of the year and a sacrifice fly off the bat of Luis Roman.
Orsen Josephina started for the Boulders and surrendered five runs in 5 2/3 innings on five hits. He walked two and struck out four, but retired 10 of the final 11 batters he faced, earning his sixth win of the season against five losses.
Luke Burton, Dylan Smith and Zach Schneider closed out the win for New York with an inning of relief each.
Dexter was tagged with the loss for the Valley Catsm falling to 2-3 on the year.
