Boulders Back Home Starting May 31

New York Boulders News Release

Rockland County, NY - After a winning road trip that took them to Quebec and Ottawa, the Boulders return home to start a six-game homestand on Friday, May 31, welcoming in the Quebec Capitales for the first of a three-game series.

What's Next? - Friday is '80s Night at Palisades Credit Union Park; Saturday is Harry Potter Night, with free Harry Potter glasses to the first 1,000 fans plus post-game fireworks, and Sunday is Carnival Day with a 1:30 pm start. The Sussex County Miners then visit for a three-game set next Tuesday thru Thursday.

Batmen Begin - The Boulders were plagued by a season-opening team hitting slump, but they've broken out in a big way. After accumulating just 41 hits through their first eight games, the Boulders banged out 39 over the next three.

Relievers Pitching In - The bright spot in the early going has been the Boulders' bullpen. Covering a ninegame span, Rockland relievers allowed just three earned runs over 31.0 innings of work. Leading the charge is right-hander Nick Kennedy, who has yielded just five hits in 8.2 scoreless frames to date (through 5/29). Canadian Homecoming - A pair of Boulders returned to their former stomping grounds with great success.

Catcher Adam Ehrlich played the past three seasons for the Capitales and was a torrid 8-for-11 with a homer and four RBI in three games in Quebec, all Rockland wins. After plying his trade for the Ottawa Champions last season, center fielder Chase Harris exploded with a 6-for-9 performance over the first two games of the series in his return to Ontario.

Legends Locked and Loaded - The Boulders have announced Legends Team participants for the Home Run Derby on Tuesday, July 9, part of the All-Star Week festivities coming to Rockland County. Local favorites Mookie Wilson, Jesse Barfield, and John Flaherty are scheduled to appear, with the possibility of more names to be added in the weeks ahead. The All-Star Game between the Can-Am League and the Frontier League will take place on Wednesday, July 10, at Palisades Credit Union Park.
