
Boucher Earns 900th Hit, Champs Beat Aigles

OTTAWA -The Ottawa Champions scored five runs in the fourth inning and accumulated 13 hits to beat the Trois-Rivière Aigles 8-4 on Monday night in Trois-Rivières.
DH Sebastien Boucher was responsible for one of those runs in the fourth, as his RBI single plated SS Daniel Bick. It was Boucher's 900^th hit of his storied Can-Am League career, and he is the only player ever to reach that milestone.
The bullpen gave up a lone run over four innings, with LHP Scott Maine closing out the game in a non-save situation. RHP Jordan Kurokawa earned his third win of the season by giving up three runs (two earned) in five frames.
The Champions got some nice production from bottom of their order. 2B Tyler Nordgren had two RBIs, while 1B Vinny Guglietti and LF Kyle Zirbes each reached base twice.
RF Steve Brown punished his former team, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a walk.
The Champions (15-18) will face the Aigles three more times in Trois-Rivières before returning to RCGT Park for a three-game set with the New Jersey Jackals starting on Friday, June 29.
