
Bouchard sets new UHL career goal mark

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO --- Muskegon Fury right wing Robin Bouchard has become the new United Hockey League (UHL) all-time career leader in goals scored. In Friday's 4-3 win vs. Flint, he netted the game-winning goal at 17:09 of the third period and moved into a tie for first place with Kevin Kerr (469) on the UHL career goals list. It was the 700th career UHL game for the 32-year-old native of Jonquiere, Quebec.
The following night, he scored a goal at 9:47 of the first period to move into sole possession of first place on the all-time list. That goal also proved to be the game-winner, tying Kevin Kerr (65) for first place on the UHL career game-winning goals list. Bouchard wasn't done there as he tallied two more goals over the next four minutes to complete the "natural hat trick" (3g) in the first period.
Bouchard leads the UHL in scoring this season with 79 points (41g, 38a). His 41 goals are the most in the league and give him 472 for his UHL career. Bouchard began his UHL career in the 1995-96 season with the Flint Generals and is now in his tenth season with the Muskegon Fury.
UHL TEAMS IN THE COMMUNITY - UHL teams continue to give back to their local communities as two teams made significant contributions during the week. The Quad City Mallards held their annual jersey auction on Saturday, February 4th and wore special race car theme jerseys. Proceeds from the event raised $42,460 for Genesis Medical Center. The money will be used to purchase ultrasound equipment for the emergency department which will allow for quicker diagnosis of trauma patients.
The Fort Wayne Komets held their annual Report Card Night on Saturday, February 4th. All students with an "A" on their report card received a free ticket to the game. In conjunction with the event, Comcast Cable of Fort Wayne donated $7,500 to the Literacy Alliance of Fort Wayne. Attendance for the evening was 10,462.
ALL-STAR ONLINE AUCTION - The online auction of 2006 UHL All-Star Classic helmets and jerseys continues this week via the UHL website, www.theuhl.com. Proceeds of the helmets and jerseys worn during the Charity Game between the St. Louis Blues Alumni and UHL Commissioner's Team will benefit St. Louis Children's Hospital. Fans can view the items at the UHL website or search on Ebay under the seller name "unitedhockeyleague".

Adirondack Frostbite - (2-1-0) - The Frostbite have posted 30 or more shots on goal in seven of their last nine games...Right wing Ryan Bennett recorded five points (1g, 4a) during the week...Goaltender Kris Tebbs notched his first victory since December 3rd when he made 32 saves in the 3-2 victory vs. Danbury on Saturday...Center Greg Koehler is riding a four-game point streak (2g, 4a)...Adirondack is 13-3-3 in one goal games.
Danbury Trashers - (2-1-1) - The Trashers five-goal third period on Sunday vs. Adirondack ties a team record set for most goals in a period...Danbury had four power play goals in five opportunities on Sunday... Forward Drew Omicioli had his 11-game point streak snapped on Friday vs. Richmond...Center Jeff Daw's five-point night (2g, 3a) on Sunday is a season high for a Trashers player.
Elmira Jackals - (2-0-0) - Right wing Jason Sessa played his 450th professional game on Saturday...The Jackals were plus-20 as a team during their two-game western road trip. They were a combined minus-41 in their previous two games...Left wing Josh Tataryn had the game-winning shootout goal on Saturday vs. Fort Wayne. He is now tied for second in the UHL with six shootout goals.
Flint Generals - (0-3-0) - The Generals were outscored 19-8 in three games during the week...Flint has lost four straight games and their last five road games...Forwards Sean Starke and Chad Cavanaugh are riding five-game point streaks...Center Terry Marchant is on a nine-game assist streak...With two losses this week to Kalamazoo, the Generals are 0-6-0 this season vs. the K-Wings.
Fort Wayne Komets - (1-0-1) - The Komets are 9-3-1 in their last 13 games and unbeaten in regulation in three straight...Left wing Matt Hunter skated in his 100th professional game on Friday...Greg Puhalski coached his 850 career game on Saturday. He currently has 499 career coaching wins...Goaltender Kevin St. Pierre is unbeaten in regulation in his last five games (4-0-1)...Left wing Lance Galbraith and center Colin Chaulk have three-game point streaks.
Kalamazoo Wings - (3-0-0) - Center Tyler Rennette played his 400th career game on Saturday...Defenseman Daniel Carriere became the K-Wings all-time UHL leader in assists when he dished out his 112th assist in a K-Wings uniform on Saturday...Kalamazoo outscored their opponents 20-6 this week, including 15-5 in two games vs. Flint... Center Kory Karlander is on a seven-game assist streak...Left wing Nick Bootland had his six-game goal streak snapped on Saturday.
Missouri River Otters - (0-2-0) - Defenseman Tim O'Connell had a goal in both games this weekend. He has eight points (2g, 6a) in his last ten games...The Otters have averaged almost 3,800 fans in their last four home games... Missouri is just 3-16-1 vs. opponents within their division...Forward Blake Stewart is tied for second among UHL rookies with five shootout goals...Center Paul Falco has six points (2g, 4a) in his last ten games.
Motor City Mechanics - (1-1-1) - Center Adam Edinger netted a hat trick (3g) on Saturday vs. Missouri. It was his second of the season...Edinger is just the second player in team history to reach the 30-goal mark in a season. He is second in the UHL with 32 goals this season and is riding a seven-game point streak...Rookie forward Peter Szabo has a point in eight of his last ten games. He is first among UHL rookies with 31 assists.
Muskegon Fury - (2-0-1) - Muskegon is unbeaten in regulation in their last 15 games (13-0-2)...They are unbeaten at home in regulation in their last nine games (8-0-1), outscoring their opponents 50-23...When the Fury defeated Flint on Friday, Todd Nelson earned his 131st Muskegon coaching victory, the most in team history...Team captain Rustyn Dolyny became just the sixth player in team history to play 300 games when he suited up on Friday.
Port Huron Flags - (1-1-0) - Forward Noah Whyte arrived in time for the final two periods of Wednesday's 5-4 shootout win vs. Muskegon. He was acquired in a trade earlier in the day with Quad City. He scored the game-tying goal with under three minutes remaining in regulation and scored a shootout goal...The victory was Port Huron's third shootout win vs. Muskegon this season. Three of Muskegon's four shootout losses have come vs. the Flags.
Quad City Mallards - (0-2-0) - Center Patrick Nadeau netted the 200th goal of his career on Friday. He contributed to all three of the Mallards' goals (1g, 2a) in the 5-3 loss to Elmira...Forward Anthony Blumer took over the Mallards lead in rookie goal scoring when notched his 14th of the year on Friday...Left wing Rafal Martynowski scored a goal for the second consecutive game on Friday. He has five goals in 12 games for the Mallards.
Richmond RiverDogs - (3-0-0) - Center Mike Oliveira is riding a 14-game point streak...Richmond won all three games during the week to push their record to .500 for the first time all season...The RiverDogs competed in their ninth shootout of the season on Friday and won 3-2. Goaltender Doug Groenestege stopped all four Danbury shooters in the extra frame...Kris Waltze coached his first game on Saturday as the RiverDogs beat Roanoke 3-2.
Roanoke Valley Vipers - (0-3-0) - Rookie left wing Mike Wiggins is riding an eleven-game point streak. He has 23 points (16g, 7a) in 21 games since being acquired in a trade from Fort Wayne in December...Left wing David Beauregard is third in the league with 14 power play goals...The Vipers are on a ten-game winless streak and have not won in their last ten road games.
Rockford IceHogs - (1-0-0) - Rockford has won seven straight games and four-straight on the road...The IceHogs are 15-4-1 in their last 20 games...Goaltender Michel Robinson is on an 11-game unbeaten streak (9-0-2) tying Ronnie Vogel's 11-game unbeaten mark (10-0-1) that he started the season with...Rookie forwards Yannick Tifu (4g, 8a) and Chaz Johnson (6g, 5a) have paced the IceHogs in scoring over the last ten games.
