OTTAWA - It was a different year and a different challenge between Lynx GM Kyle Bostwick and Rochester Red Wings GM Dan Mason, but the outcome was still the same. Bostwick traveled to Rochester last night to complete the best-of-five series in the EA Sports "2004 Grand Slam Challenge" that pitted the two GM's against each other in the newest version of EA Sports baseball video game.

Heading into last night's action, the two had split the first two games held in Ottawa on July 29th. Bostwick came out firing in game three, scoring early and often on route to a 9-2 victory. The fourth game was a much tighter affair, but Bostwick and his Lynx rallied from a 6-4 deficit with three runs in the seventh inning and hung on for a 7-6 win, clinching victory in the Grand Slam Challenge. For his win, Bostwick will receive a check for $500 from Red Wings GM Dan Mason which will be donated to a charity of the Lynx choice.

"It was a really fun experience," said Bostwick "I think both Dan and I had a blast doing this, and although I'm happy we came out on top, I'm even more excited that we'll be able to donate $500 to one of the great charities who work with us each year."

This year's challenge marked the second straight year that Bostwick has bested Mason in their annual friendly wager. In 2003, when the Lynx topped the Red Wings in their on-field season series, Mason came to Ottawa and worked as the Lynx bat boy for a game in August.

The Lynx are currently in Rochester where they play the second game of a three-game series tonight against the Red Wings. Ottawa returns home on Saturday for a four game series against the Pawtucket Red Sox, with first pitch scheduled for 6:05 pm.
