The Border Cats battled back from a 5-1 deficit Saturday night in Rochester, but the Honkers rallied for two runs in the bottom of the 9th inning to upend Thunder Bay 7-6. Kevin Barker's two-run single with one out in the last of the 9th dropped the Cats record to 7-11. Thunder Bay had taken a 6-5 lead in the top of the 9th on a solo home run by Jacob Rogers (Eastern New Mexico University), his first of the season. Jason Vosler (Northeastern University) also hit his first home run, a two-run shot in the 8th inning. Tyler Duplantis (Nicholls State University) led the Cats at the plate going 2-4 with an RBI and a run scored.

Ryan Atwood (Florida Gulf Coast University) started for Thunder Bay, but lasted only 3 2/3 innings. The lefthander allowed two runs on two hits with five walks and four strikeouts. Matt Blackham (Johnson County College) took the loss in relief to fall to 0-1. The righthander pitched 2 1/3 innings and allowed two runs on five hits with four strikeouts.

The Cats continue their four-game road trip tonight in Duluth, where they open a two-game series against the Huskies. First pitch at Wade Stadium is scheduled for 6:05pm ET. Jordan Church (Sam Houston State University) will make his first start of the season for the Cats. The 6'7" righthander has appeared in two games and is 0-0 with one save and a 0.00 ERA.

CLAW MARKS: Thunder Bay has added Brad Burcroff to the roster from Northeastern University, where he is a teammate of current Cats infielders Michael Foster and Jason Vosler. The 6'4", 205 pound junior is very versatile as he can play the outfield, first base and catcher. Burcroff, a native of Highland, CA., played in 57 games at Northeastern this season and batted .268 with 15 doubles, three triples, five home runs and 34 runs batted in.
