Burleson's Two Home Runs Fuel Bullfrog Victory

The Bullfrogs hit three home runs on Sunday en route to a back and forth, 7-4 extra inning victory in Madison over the Mallards.

Madison opened the scoring in the second inning when Drew Weeks came home to score on a Mike Fitzgerald single.

The Bullfrogs tied up the game in the fourth inning when Boomer White came home to score on an error on Madison shortstop Mike Reuvekamp.

In the fifth, the Bullfrogs took their first lead of the game on Tripp Martin's fifth home run of the season. At the team Green Bay held a 4-2 lead.

The Mallards responded quickly in the bottom of the fifth. Tate Matheny a three-run home run, his second home run of the series and fifth of the season, to give the Mallards a 5-4 lead.

An inning later in the sixth, Bryant Burleson hit his first home run of the season to tie the game up at 4-4.

The score remained tied into extra innings. In the 10th, Burleson once again came to the plate and his another home run, this time a three-run shot to give Green Bay a 7-4 that the Bullfrogs would not relinquish.

Will Landsheft (1-0) earned the win. The loss went to Madison's Hunter May (0-1).

The Bullfrogs travel to Mequon Monday to take on the Lakeshore Chinooks. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.

Green Bay's next home game will be Tuesday against Lakeshore. All fans in attendance will receive a free flyswatter presented by YP.com. It is also Two for One Tuesday with Y100, and the rescheduled celebration of Jeremiah Bullfrog's seventh birthday. Other area mascots will be at Joannes Stadium to celebrate.
