Schaumburg Boomers News Release
EVANSVILLE, IN - The middle game of a weekend road series between the Schaumburg Boomers and Evansville Otters was rained out. The teams will attempt to play a doubleheader on Sunday at 3:05 p.m.
Heavy rain began falling in Evansville shortly after the Boomers arrived at the ballpark which was followed quickly by a thunderstorm. Following a short break where a tentative first pitch time had been set another front came through with more rain and thunderstorms forcing the cancelation after waiting for nearly an hour. Mother nature also caused Evansville and Schaumburg to postpone a game in Schaumburg earlier in the season due to inclement weather.
Schaumburg won the opener of the series on Friday night, breaking a five-game skid with a 5-2 victory. Orlando Rodriguez struck out eight in seven innings to earn his fourth win, allowing just an unearned run. Quincy Nieporte and Chase Dawson both drove home two runs.
