Boomers 10-0 Lead Suspended Due to Rain

SCHAUMBURG, ILL. -- The two-time defending Frontier League Champion Schaumburg Boomers, presented by Wintrust Community Banks, announce that the game August 18 against Traverse City has been suspended with two outs in the bottom of the second inning.

The Boomers are leading 10-0 at the time of the game's suspension, with seven runs crossing the plate in the first and three more following in the second frame.

As a result, the Boomers and Beach Bums will play a doubleheader Wednesday, August 19 at Boomers Stadium. The remainder of tonight's nine inning game will be played Wednesday afternoon beginning at 1:00 PM with a seven inning game following the conclusion of the first tilt. The Boomers are projected to start LHP Peter Gehle (2-5, 6.16 ERA) in the second game, while Traverse City's projected starter for the second game is RHP Kramer Champlin (7-6, 1.80 ERA).

Tickets from August 18 are now rain checks which can be exchanged at the Boomers Stadium box office for any future regular season home game, based on availability.
